A Novel Five-Phase Fractional Slot Concentrated Winding with Low Space Harmonic Contents

In this article, a novel five-phase fractional-slot concentrated winding (FSCW) with 20-slot/22-pole is presented. It benefits not only the advantages of conventional FSCW but also weak space harmonics magnetomotive force (MMF). The allows eliminating first sub-order harmonic. new layout topology obtained by combination stator shift technique in slots special coupling windings (star-pentagon), using function theory. high performances are validated finite element method (FEM). Compared to winding, factor and total harmonic distortion (THD) MMF improved 1.3% 2.2%, respectively. With same injection current density, average output torque increased 1% ripple decreased 60%. eddy losses permanent magnets (PMs) at rated speed (600 r/min) 2100 r/min 67% 56%,
